Blog Scour: Still In Debt

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

I just don’t get it. People take advice from people who are in debt? That’s like following Fat Albert’s diet plan or believing politicians’ calls for truth and transparency. Sure, it’s great you’re trying something. I guess it is slightly better than following Paris Hilton as a financial example.

The question I have is when a person is blogging about solving their debt, what happens when they actually knock it down? Do they then go out and buy a boat just so they can bitch and moan about their new debt? Perhaps they get their readers to do all the work and send in their own stories about their fiscal failure. Or perhaps they just die on the vine.

It reminds me of the cure for super disease X organizations and pharmaceutical companies. If they were actually ever truly successful, they would end up killing themselves by eliminating the need for their existence.

But that implies that such things can actually be solved. And we all know you can’t cure the world of stupidity.

Blog Scour: Turn Off The Light

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

Things I hate more than the Jimmy Fallon include hearing about the same old mucus over and over and over again. That’s why I turn off the television after a few minutes of political analysis these days - makes each tooth feel like they’re going to implode at once. But what I’m thinking about today is the fuss about CFLs, compact fluorescent light bulbs. That’s so last year.  And they are still gushing over CFLsI am really, trulysincerely sick of hearing each and every blog writer extol their doubt turned love for them. Stop with the ”save money by screwing in a light bulb” articles already. Punch the next CFL article writer in the face for me.  Thanks.
